ANNA

ANNA

Hi - I'm Anna Wirth.

Art has accompanied me throughout my life. Even as a child, I could lose myself for hours painting pictures. After graduating from high school, I decided to follow this passion and began studying art and German. Studying art gave me an insight into various practical art techniques, art history, art education and art science. During my studies I developed my current painting style, which still inspires me to this day and inspires me to continue working creatively.

ABOUT MY ART

My goal has always been to portray people as individuals. I painted portraits for many years in the belief that I could best reflect people's identities through their faces. When I came into contact with the disease dementia and tried to portray forgetting, I reached my limits. A person's appearance could not reflect the inner processes. In search of a solution to my problem, I gradually moved away from displaying the faces until I finally left them out completely.

My works play with the identities and realities of the people depicted. Through a mix of figurative, realistic and abstract styles, I enable a look behind the scenes of people's faces, into their feelings and personalities. I try to make visible what is not noticeable when people look at them from the outside. By leaving out the faces, the viewer is given space to interpret their own thoughts and feelings into the images and to reflect on themselves.
